Summer 2018 is a great time to take control of your health because healthy living starts with you! In an effort to build a healthier environment John C. Fremont Healthcare District (JCFHD) and their community partners are offering three new health education programs.
Living Well Series (LVWS):
LVWS aims to provide residents of Mariposa County with an opportunity to use alternative methods to manage their chronic pain. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in various classes taught by practitioners located in Mariposa. Topics covered include-but are not limited to- yoga, fitness and wellness, and Ayurvedic medicine. LVWS is brought to you by Anthem Blue Cross and the Mariposa County Opioid Taskforce. The series starts June 2oth the schedule is varied.
Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP):
Are you or someone you know dealing with a chronic disease? Are you a caregiver? Are you interested in learning healthy tools such as action planning, decision making, and stress management? If you answered yes to any of these questions, look no farther, join CDSMP! CDSMP starts June 28th for six weeks on Thursday afternoons from 1:00-3:30pm. Space is limited so reserve yours today!
Back 2 School Health Fairs:
There will be two Back 2 School Health Fairs. The first will be held on Saturday, July 28th at Fremont Family Physicians, in Mariposa, and the second will be held on August 4th in Greeley Hill, at the Northside Clinic. The aim of the health fairs is to ensure that parents and students receive help needed to facilitate the back to school entrance process. The health fair includes hearing and vision screenings, immunizations, refreshments, entertainment, FREE school supplies, and much more!
