About Us
Welcome to the John C. Fremont Healthcare District (JCFHD), a cornerstone of health and wellness nestled in the heart of the majestic landscapes of Mariposa and its surrounding communities. Since our establishment in 1947 and the commencement of services in 1951, we have dedicated ourselves to providing comprehensive healthcare services to the residents of Mariposa County, parts of Madera County (including Ahwahnee, Nippinawassee, and Oakhurst), as well as the iconic Yosemite National Park, Fish Camp, Coulterville, Greeley Hill, and Lake Don Pedro.
As the primary healthcare provider in the area, John C. Fremont Healthcare District operates the nearest hospital with emergency services for Mariposa County residents, ensuring critical care is always within reach. Our facility, a 34-bed hospital with 18 acute care beds and 16 long-term care beds, is home to a 24-hour emergency department and a comprehensive clinical laboratory. Our commitment extends beyond our hospital walls, with three clinics under our wing: the Fremont Family Physician clinic, Fremont Specialty Physician clinic, and our Northside clinic.
Our Services
We offer an expansive range of health services to meet the diverse needs of our community. From acute patient care to education, long-term nursing, home health, hospice, and a full suite of diagnostic imaging services, including bone density scans, digital mammography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Our laboratory, respiratory therapy, Ryan White (AIDS/HIV) program, social services, outpatient, and various specialty services are designed to cater to the holistic well-being of our patients.
In the past year alone, our Emergency Department has provided life-saving treatment to over 7,100 patients, addressing critical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, pulmonary embolisms, and more. Our partnership with local air ambulance helicopter services has been a game-changer, significantly reducing emergency response times by 25 minutes and ensuring rapid transport for those in need of urgent specialized care.
