Community Update: Future Hospital Planning
The John C. Fremont Healthcare District Board of Directors conducted a series of special strategic planning meetings, led by our contracted architecture firm, Cuningham, focused on the future of healthcare services once a new hospital facility is built.
These discussions focused on what services and programs our community will need in the future, as California seismic regulations require hospitals to meet updated safety standards by 2030.
These meetings were open to the public, and community input plays an important role in guiding long-term decisions so the future hospital reflects the healthcare needs of Mariposa County.

Below is a short video of early site activity. Soil testing is required by Mariposa County prior to construction to ensure the site is suitable for future development. Soil samples were collected in April 2025 from the hospital campus.
Stay tuned for additional updates as the project progresses.
