Position Overview

The Capital Campaign Philanthropy Director plays a crucial role in advancing JCFHD's mission by leading our fundraising strategies and activities specific to the replacement hospital to meet 2030 seismic regulations. This position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive philanthropy plan that includes major gifts, corporate partnerships, grant acquisition, and donor stewardship. The Capital Campaign Philanthropy Director will work closely with the CEO, JCFHD Board of Directors, and development team to ensure that fundraising goals are met and that donors are engaged and acknowledged in meaningful ways.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan that aligns with JCFHD's mission, goals, and priorities. Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities that support long-term sustainability.

Donor Relations: Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with existing and potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations. Ensure impactful engagement and communication with all donors.

Major Gifts: Lead the major gifts program, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors.

Grant Management: Oversee the grant-seeking process, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements. Maintain a calendar of grant submissions and reports.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the development team, fostering an environment of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.

Financial Management:

Prepare and monitor the philanthropy budget. Report on fundraising progress and trends to the CEO and Board of Directors. At a minimum, the Capital Campaign Philanthropy Director shall report to

the Foundation Board and District CEO the following: (a) on an annual basis, the Capital Campaign's annual budget; and (b) on a monthly basis (to align with District's monthly board meetings),

(i) the Capital Campaign's current fundraising goals and projects, (ii) the funds received by the Foundation each month for the Capital Campaign as of the date of the report, (iii) the funds

anticipated to be received by the Capital Campaign before the next report, and (iv) copies of statements (with account information redacted) setting forth the balance in the account, all deposits

and withdrawals, the specific type of account/investment account holding the funds, the interest earned, if any, on the funds and any fees paid in the corresponding month:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising/development roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership
position.

Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets, including securing major gifts and grants.

Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and motivate donors and partners.

Strong strategic planning and project management abilities.

Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

Familiarity with donor databases and CRM systems; proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

Commitment to JCFHD's mission and values.
