Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Lead Admitting - Patient Access Representative performs the full range of duties of the Admitting Clerk - Patient Access classification while providing lead work direction, coordination, and operational support to admitting staff.
In this role, you will serve as an operational resource and assist in overseeing workflow to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant patient registration and access processes across District registration points, including clinic, emergency department, and hospital reception areas, as assigned.
This position plays a key role in supporting patient flow, registration accuracy, and front-end revenue cycle processes while promoting a positive patient experience and maintaining compliance with District policies and regulatory requirements.
Note: This classification does not exercise supervisory authority and does not have authority to hire, discipline, evaluate, or make final employment decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day workflow guidance and technical support to admitting staff.
Assist in coordinating daily assignments based on patient volume and operational needs.
Serve as a primary point of contact for admitting staff during assigned shifts.
Support scheduling coordination and coverage planning to promote efficient staffing and minimize overtime.
Provide registration coverage across clinic, emergency department, and hospital reception areas as needed.
Monitor accuracy of patient demographic, financial, and insurance data entry.
Identify and help resolve registration errors, discrepancies, and incomplete information.
Conduct periodic quality audits of registration processes and communicate findings to leadership.
Track point-of-service collections and review reconciliation reports in coordination with management.
Assist with onboarding and training of new staff and provide peer guidance on workflows and procedures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to patient access and registration.
Support development and updates of workflows, procedures, and operational communications.
Ensure compliance with confidentiality, regulatory requirements, and District policies.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of admitting, registration, or patient access experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred: Experience in a hospital or multi-point access environment (clinic, ED, inpatient).
