Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Infection Prevention and Senior Manager of Environmental and Nutritional Food Services (EVS & NFS) serves as a clinical and operational leader responsible for infection prevention and environmental safety District-wide. This role oversees infection control initiatives across Acute Care, Emergency, Skilled Nursing Facility, Clinics, and Administrative settings, while managing EVS and NFS teams to ensure sanitation and safety standards meet or exceed CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission, EPA, and CMS requirements. The Senior Manager leads program development, education, and regulatory readiness efforts that advance patient safety and organizational compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead District-wide Infection Prevention and Control programs, ensuring compliance with CDC, CMS, CDPH, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards.

Oversee Environmental Services (EVS) and Nutrition & Food Services (NFS) operations, maintaining safe, clean, and sanitary environments across all facilities.

Monitor infection trends, conduct surveillance, and manage outbreak responses to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

Develop, implement, and enforce policies and protocols for infection prevention, sanitation, and food safety.

Supervise and mentor EVS and NFS staff, providing training, evaluations, and professional development opportunities.

Prepare for and lead regulatory inspections, audits, and accreditation surveys.

Collaborate with Employee Health and Quality to support staff safety, immunization, and exposure management programs.

Manage departmental budgets, contracts, and supply inventories for IPC, EVS, and NFS.

Provide education and training on infection prevention and environmental health practices for staff at all levels.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (required).

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) - required within 1 year of hire.

Minimum 5 years of infection control experience in a healthcare setting.

Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience.
Knowledge of CDC, OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission, and state regulations.

Basic Life Support (BLS).

Preferred: Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or related clinical discipline

Certified Infection Control (CIC)

Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP)
