Position Summary
The Interim Clinical Supervisor oversees nursing operations within the Emergency Department and Acute Care units. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring safe, high-quality patient care while serving as a clinical resource, mentor, and role model for staff. The Interim Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supporting day-to-day departmental operations, staff coordination, patient flow, and regulatory compliance while promoting collaboration, professionalism, and effective communication across the care team.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership for Emergency Department and Acute Care nursing operations during assigned shifts.
Support safe, high-quality patient care while serving as a clinical resource, mentor, and role model for nursing staff.
Coordinate staffing assignments, patient flow, and workflow adjustments based on census, acuity, and operational needs.
Promote compliance with District policies, patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Provide real-time guidance, coaching, and support to nursing and support staff to promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication.
Collaborate with providers, ancillary departments, and leadership teams to support continuity of care and efficient department operations.
Assist with onboarding, orientation, training, and reinforcement of departmental competencies and clinical expectations.
Support quality improvement initiatives, incident follow-up, regulatory readiness efforts, and other operational responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years RN experience, including at least two (2) years in acute care (Emergency Department, telemetry, or similar setting).
Minimum of one (1) year recent Charge Nurse or supervisory/management experience.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
-Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with seven (7) years’ RN experience in specialty area considered in lieu of BSN
Current California RN license – required
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, and MICN required
National specialty certification – preferred
